Trash Days
The Town hosts a semi-annual trash day for property owners in the Village, Town, and their tenants living in the Village or Town. This enables folks to properly discard large items such as furniture, appliances, electronics, hard plastics, and tires. It does not include green waste, textiles or what would be considered food type garbage. There is a charge for tires, generally about $5 for each one, depending on tire size.

The usual dates are the last Saturday in April and September, starting at 8 A.M. and concluding at 11 A.M. The dates will be posted in our official newspaper, the West Winfield STAR.

Our next Trash Day is tentatively scheduled for September 27, 2025.

Paper shredding is not offered at every Trash Day due to the additional expense. It is offered about every 1-1/2 to 2 years. 

At our most recent Trash Day this past April, we hosted 122 participants and collected about 23 tons of trash, plus a full dumpster of electronics and hard plastics.
